The project consists of the redesign of a collector, CAD development and FEM calculations.

The following modifications were proposed in the redesign:

• The need to reduce the volume of plastic in certain areas to avoid the shrinkage effect.
• Change the shape of the “rib” (offset to the inside diameter) to add steel in the cavity to reduce the volume.
• Increase the thickness along with the injection, to avoid flow restriction and different flow velocities, which can cause weld lines in unexpected places.
• Thickness increase to reduce injection flow restriction caused by uneven thickness.
