This project by ITERA aims to develop a digital platform based on genetic algorithms and neural networks for the analysis and processing of data that allows the prediction of electricity demand, in order to optimize electricity generation to meet the demand, prioritizing generation from renewable energies.
SEO (Smart Energy Optimizer) is a project co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The main objective of the SEO is the development of a reliable, scalable and secure Smart-grid infrastructure to integrate and support the increase of energy production from renewable sources, storage systems and production/demand management.
In this context, SEO presents the following technical objectives:
1. Develop energy management software to meet the energy demand.
2. Obtain a demand curve prediction algorithm.
3. Develop a mechanism to predict generation needs in real time by prioritizing renewable energies to cover the forecasted demand.
4. Identify and define a daily energy consumption model according to statistical approximations and an optimal balance between demand, supply and energy storage capacity.
5. Design and program an intuitive user interface according to customer specifications, technology and current regulations.
6. Design and develop a prototype sensorized meteorological measurement tower to verify the correlation of energy forecast data with meteorology.
